A frozen Diamond Lake with Mt. Bailey in the distance is off scenic Byway 138 near the detour for Crater Lake National Park. From Hwy. 62 to Crater Lake National Park's south entrance take a winter drive by Mt. Thielsen on Hwy. 230 connecting Scenic Byway 138 and the North Umpqua River & water falls.
We don't get much snow, if we do, as you can see it is a light coating. But, we are only 30 minutes to 1 hour from the snow. Go play or visit Crater Lake National Park and Diamond Lake and experience their winter bliss. Then come back to the bed and breakfast parlor and warm up in front of the hot stone fireplace, or go to the game room heated by the cast iron pellet stove. Play a game of pool, or watch satellite TV on a large screen, or pop in your favorite classic video from the library...The Umpqua is in a small sun belt with many winter sunny days. Our average temperate are in the 40's & 50's. December., January. and February can sometimes produce days even reaching the 60's.
