The summers are warm to hot and usually very dry, average temperature is in the 80's. There is lot to do for recreation at the bed and breakfast. You can swim in their perfect swimming hole, bring your inter-tubes and float. After swimming sun bathe on the beach. Let the kids look for life in the pools on the large rock. Put in a line and do some fishing off the banks or cast out in this great fly fishing spot. Watch for a lot of wild life, at any time you might see an osprey, eagle, a variety of ducks, Canada Geese, fresh water otters, a beaver at dusk, deer, and occasionally an elk, once even a cougar. They provide horse shoes, bad mitten, ping pong and croquet. There is a large fenced playground for your children. Take a walk on one of the short trails on the property. Have a picnic or/and barbecue close to the river. Enjoy the Gazebo near the river. Own a canoe or kayak? Put in on the gravel beach and cruise down the river. Pack a picnic for your family and take the kids to Fall Creek Falls, with it's creek, pools, large rock formations, large trees, fallen trees to climb and wide open trail it gives the children a lot to explore and still stay in your sight, it's an adventure, natures Disneyland. Drive up to Crater Lake National Park stopping along the way to see the 9 water falls on route there, especially the scenic Toketee Waterfall. There are many other waterfalls, swimming holes and trails to explore by foot or bike. For excitement run the rapids on the upper North Umpqua River with a qualified guide. Tour interesting sights in the area as the fish hatchery, wineries, murals, etc. In the evening play pool, sit on the decks, watching the sunset, sit quietly and watch you might spot a beaver or otter.
